The Cattaraugus County Health Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating a dog that bit an 11-year-old boy Thursday.
The department is trying to locate the dog to prevent the child from having to undergo rabies post-exposure shots.
The boy was bitten at about 11 a.m. on New York State Route 16 between the hamlet of Ischua and Interstate 86, according to a press release from the county. The dog is medium size, white with brown patches, and has long hair.
