The Cattaraugus County Health Department confirmed a 63rd case of the coronavirus Tuesday.

The 63rd confirmed case is a woman who lives in the southeastern quadrant of the county and is employed at a nursing home in the county, according to a press release issued by the department. She received a COVID-19 test on Thursday as part of a New York State requirement that all nursing home employees be tested twice a week. The woman, who has been asymptotic, received her COVID-19 positive test result on Tuesday. 

The department has begun a thorough contact tracing on the individual.

There are 17 active COVID-19 cases in the county; 43 individuals have recovered.
