Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging to Offer Medicare Workshops

OLEAN, NY -- To address increased demand for Medicare open enrollment assistance, the Cattaraugus Department of the Aging will offer Medicare workshops to help individuals make informed decisions regarding Medicare supplemental insurance. 

The workshops will cover all the health insurance plans being offered in 2018. Workshop attendees will be taught step-by-step how to look at all of the available plans, their copay amounts and benefits and  how to enroll in a plan.

The following workshops will be held in the County Building, 1 Leo Moss Drive, in the 2nd floor Administration Conference room:

Oct. 10, 3 p.m. 

Oct.  11, 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m. 

Nov. 7, 1 to 2:30 p.m. 

Nov. 8, 10 to 11:30 a.m. 

For persons unable to attend a workshop session, the Department of the Aging will mail a comparison grid (“matrix”) of the Medicare plans for 2018. The matrix will also contain contact information for Medicare and the other insurance plans.
