The Cattaraugus County Health Department confirmed a 67th case of the coronavirus Friday.
The 67th confirmed case is a woman who lives in the southwest part of the county, according to a press release issued by the department. She reported having no significant travel history but developed a fever, cough, sore throat and diarrhea. She has underlying health conditions and was admitted to UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital in Jamestown Thursday and tested for COVID-19. Her COVID-19 positive result came back Friday.
The health department has begun a thorough contact tracing on the individual.
Since May 15, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the county has grown by 17, and one more person has died (bringing the total of deaths to three). There are 17 active cases of COVID-19 in the county; 47 individuals have recovered.
