The Cattaraugus County Health Department confirmed a 97th case of the coronavirus Sunday.
According to a press release issued by the department, the 97th confirmed case is a woman who lives in the southeast quadrant of the county and is a health care worker at a Gowanda nursing home. She denies having any significant travel history and reports being asymptomatic. She was tested for COVID-19 on Wednesday as part of a New York State requirement for weekly testing of all nursing home employees and received her COVID-19 positive result on Sunday.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracing on the woman.
There are four active COVID-19 cases in the county; 89 residents have recovered, and four have died.
