The Cattaraugus County Health Department confirmed the county's 125th coronavirus case Thursday.
According to a press release issued by the department, the 125th case is a woman who lives in the northwest quadrant of the county with no significant travel history.
The woman has been hospitalized for several weeks, and her previous tests for COVID-19 on July 10 and July 22 were negative. She was retested on Wednesday as part of a transfer requirement to a rehabilitation facility, and her test results were positive.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for individuals that she has been in contact with and places she has been.
There are 10 active COVID-19 cases in the county; 111 residents have recovered, and four have died.
