OLEAN, NY – The Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging/NY Connects will host a six-week self-management class designed to help those suffering from the ongoing health issue of diabetes discover ways to live healthier lifestyles.

The class will meet Thursdays, Feb. 23 through March 30, from 12:30 to 3 p.m., in the John J. Ash Community Center, 112 N. Barry St.

Sessions will address symptoms of diabetes such as fatigue, pain and hyper/hypoglycemia; managing stress and other emotional concerns such as depression, anger, fear, and frustration; appropriate exercises for maintaining and improving strength and endurance; the promotion healthy eating habits, and appropriate use of medications and effective ways to work with healthcare providers.
