The tweets says a lot about both the staff of the Gazette and journalism as a whole. Journlism is a field that tests your strength, and as a journalist, things won’t always go your way. You’ll miss deadlines, get bad quotes, be treated unfairly, be deemed a biased person, and in the case of today’s events, perhaps even die at work.
Journalism is about overcoming adversity and doing the right thing (turning out a paper), even in times when it’s the hardest.
When you sign up to be a journalist, you’re signing up to cover, be thrown into, and handle any and all things— no matter what. This is just another example of that.
