Rep. Tom Reed gave praise Tuesday to the St. Bonaventure Bonnies and other teams from Upstate New York for their accomplishments in the NCAA Tournament.
“Kudos to the St. Bonaventure team as well as the University of Buffalo and Syracuse," Reed said during his weekly media call with reporters.
Reed, who represents the Greater Olean area in Congress, praised St. Bonaventure for "representing us so proudly in the tournament and getting national attention."
He also shared enthusiasm about New York teams outside his congressional district.
“Three Upstate New York teams in the NCAA Tournament is something that we should all celebrate regardless of district lines and come together,” he said.
The Bonnies lost to the Florida Gators Thursday in the NCAA Tournament 77-62. The Buffalo Bulls were eliminated by Kentucky 95-75. Syracuse will play the Duke Blue Devils in the Sweet Sixteen Friday.
