OLEAN, NY – A two-base error in the top of the ninth opened the door for the Cortland Crush to score three runs and take the lead to defeat Olean 6-4 Tuesday at Bradner Stadium.
Dylan Ketch had the big hit for Cortland, driving home Joe Palmo and Iset Maldonado for the tying and go-ahead runs. Ketchg scored the final run on a Tyler McKeon double.
The Oilers spotted Cortland three runs Tuesday, but came from behind to take a 4-3 lead into the final frame.
After Zach Kelley put the Crush on the board with a three-run home run in the top of the first, Olean got one run back in the bottom of the frame when Jimmy Webb cracked a round-tripper.
The Oilers scored again in the fifth to narrow the score and took the lead with two runs in the seventh.
Olean, 7-8, has an off-day Wednesday. The team travels to Niagara Falls Thursday for a double-header against the Power, starting at 5 p.m. at Sal Maglie Field.
