CUBA, NY – A Cuba man was arrested on welfare fraud charges Wednesday.

Scott M. Griffiths, 50, was charged with two counts of filing a false instrument and one count of welfare fraud.

According to State Police, an investigation led state troopers to discover that Griffiths had filed false paperwork with the Allegany County Department of Social Services while applying for public assistance.

Griffiths was arrested and released with an appearance ticket returnable to Belmont Village Court, where he is due to appear later this month.
