"I hope that lawmakers recognize that there are a wide variety of colleges and universities in the US, and make decisions that will benefit the largest amount of students,” Post said. “I go to a rural college where sexual harassment is rare, but if an incident did happen, I’d like to know that the school would take it seriously and give both sides a chance to tell their story.

"In some cases, there are multiple people involved, who can help the university with the case," Post said. "It's really hard to make laws telling universities how they should handle sexual harassment because it's a very touchy subject."
