Lahti Basketball, a Finnish basketball team, has signed former St. Bonaventure University standout Courtney Stockard to a one-year contract.
Lahti head coach Petri Velling said Stockard will bring more power to the team. He also praised his defensive ability.
Stockard, who was born and raised in St. Louis, played two seasons with the Bonnies, helping lead the team to the NCAA tournament in 2018 and the Atlantic 10 finals in 2019. He averaged 14.2 points per game in his two years with the Bonnies.
According to an announcement from Lahti Basketball, Stockard will join the team on Sept. 1.
Stockard’s St. Bonaventure teammate LaDarien Griffin also will be playing in Scandanavia. In July, Griffin signed a contract with the Norrköping Dolphins, a professional basketball team in Sweden.
