SBU will be enforcing many safety protocols (mask wearing, social distancing, etc). To really make campus safe, everyone will have to do their part. How strictly would you be able to follow those guidelines?

An extensive to the rules at St. Bonaventure may be difficult to accept at first but once we as a student body recognizes, if they haven’t already, the severity of this situation it should not be difficult to strictly follow those guidelines. We have such a small campus with a small student body thus following these guidelines should be simple.

Can you see other students struggling to follow certain guidelines? Why or why not? We are talking about college students... many will want to see their friends, go out, etc.

I can see students who are actively social and involved in several campus activities struggle to follow guidelines. There will also most definitely be those who struggle to follow the rules and guidelines simply because they don’t want to… but that is the hard and sad reality that we live in.

How safe would you personally feel returning to a classroom environment? Why/Why not?

At a university such as St. Bonaventure I could easily see myself and others returning to a classroom setting. As a university we have a low student to teacher ratio, 12:1, to begin with. It should be no issue to begin moving students back into a classroom setting once it is safe.

Are you living on or off campus? What worries do you have about life away from the classroom?

I am living in a townhouse on campus with three other students. The only fear I have is avoiding boredom. If the university has a strict policy on leaving and returning to campus and a strict curfew is put into place… that could lead to some slow weeks.
