HINSDALE, NY -- A man from Missouri was arrested Sunday on a DWI charge.

New York State troopers charged Charles Kairu, 37, with driving while intoxicated.

The charge stemmed from a traffic stop of a tractor trailer traveling east on Interstate 86. An interview of the operator showed signs of intoxication and after standard field sobriety tests were administered, he was arrested. Kairu was taken to state police headquarters in Olean for processing, where he submitted to a breathalyzer test which registered a 0.15 percent blood-alcohol content.

He was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of an unspecified amount of bail.
