OLEAN, NY -- The Oilers started the tail end of the season on a winning note Sunday night with a 4-1 victory over Rochester.
It was the Oilers first game back in action since the short All-Star break, and it seemed as if the time off was just what Olean needed.
Cameron Weinberger picked went six full innings on the mound for the Oilers and earned his third win of the season. Weinberger gave up only five hits and struck out seven in his six shutout innings.
The bottom of the Oilers lineup did most of the damage all day for the red and white, notably Jimmy Webb and Sam Vilk who each recorded two hits and an RBI.
St. Bonaventure's Brian Pulli closed out the game on the mound. earning his fourth save of the season.
Weinberger is now 3-0 on the season as the Oilers are just four wins shy of getting back to a .500 record for the year.
Olean will play at home again Monday as the Oilers take on the Rome Generals at 7 p.m.
