WELLSVILLE, NY  - The Olean Oilers bounced back from their first loss of the season in scintillating fashion with a 13-4 win over the Wellsville Nitros Tuesday

With a 14- hit attack, the Oilers offense finally clicked after struggling to score many runs in the first two games of the season.

Aaron Phillips went 3 for 6 including a solo home-run blast that gave him a total of 6 RBI on the day. Four of those six runs were scored by Cole Peterson, a college teammate of Phillips at St. Bonaventure University. The two Bonnies seem to be working out as quite the tandem for the Oilers thus far this season.

"It's a long season, but hopefully that's what I needed to get myself going," Phillips said.

Kaden Darrow went 3 for 5 for the Oilers, while Alex Griffith, Jimmy Web, and Peterson each recorded two hits of their own in the offensive explosion.

Adam Rigney of Nichols College tossed a gem on the mound for the Oilers, surrendering just two hits and one earned run while picking up his first win of the season.

The Oilers look to win their third game of the season tonight at 7 p.m. against the Genesee Rapids at the Kerr-Pegula Athletics Complex at Houghton College.
