OLEAN, NY – A ninth-inning rally fell short Sunday, and the Oilers lost to the Genesee Rapids, 7-5, at Bradner Stadium Sunday.

Trailing 7-2 at the start of the inning, Olean put three runs on the board before Rapids pitcher Austin Rexroad retired Brian Tagoe on a ground-out to second to end the game.

Colby Greenhalgh hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to put Genesee up 3-2. The Rapids broke the game open with four runs in the eighth inning.

Olean, 7-7, was scheduled to take on the Niagara Power Monday at Sal Maglie Stadium in Niagara Falls, but the game has been postponed.
