Jimmy Webb drove home Brian Tagoe with the winning run to give the Oilers a 5-4 extra-inning walk-off win over Wellsville Sunday in the team’s last game before the New York Collegiate Baseball League All-Star break.
Tagoe doubled with two outs in the bottom of the 14th inning, and Webb followed with a single up the middle to bring him home.
Ian Concevitch, who pitched four innings of scoreless relief, got the win for Olean, which finished with a 16-13 record going into the break.
Four Oilers, including Webb, will represent Olean in the NYCBL All-Star Game Monday. The game will take place in Syracuse at the Onondaga Community College baseball complex. Oilers second baseman Dominic Cecere and pitchers Matthew Grace and Brian Pulli also were selected for the game.
The NYCBL All-Stars will take on the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League All-Stars in the contest, which will serve as the official All-Star game for both leagues.
Festivities will begin with batting practice at 4 p.m., followed by a Homerun Derby. The game is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
