OLEAN, NY -- Do you work with a young professional who is truly an asset to your business and goes above and beyond?
You can recognize him or her for their hard work with a nomination for the Olean Area Young Professionals annual awards honoring young professionals for their contributions to their respective employers and to the community.
Eligible nominees are the area’s 20- and 30-somethings working for a member company or organization of Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce. Award categories and their descriptions are below:
- Emerging Young Leader: Given to a young professional at any stage in his/her career who is both professionally and socially active, has made significant contributions to their place of employment and to the community, and shows potential to be a next generation leader in the area.
- Rookie of the Year: Given to a young professional who has worked for a company for three years or less and demonstrates outstanding work ethic, commitment to employer, and has exceeded expectations.
- MVYP: Given to a young professional who has worked for a company for more than three years, has made significant contributions to their industry/company, and exudes leadership qualities in all capacities.
- Volunteer of the Year: Given to a young professional who has devoted a significant amount of time to helping others and supporting charities and service organizations.
Nominations must be made by the young professional’s employer or a charity or service organization, and are due by Aug. 15. Nominations will be reviewed by Olean Area Young Professionals’ organizing committee. Winners will be announced Aug. 31. An award reception is scheduled for Oct. 11 at a location to be announced.
