Olean Business Development sponsors pair of workshops on commercial, residential historic tax credits

Olean Business Development is sponsoring a pair of workshops arranged by Preservation Buffalo Niagara on Sept. 29. 

The first workshop, Historic Building: Commercial Tax Credits, is scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Magnano Reception Room at Jamestown Community College’s Olean Campus, 260 N. Union St. The seminar will focus on how property owners can access state and federal tax relief for commercial buildings in need of qualified repairs that are located within a National/ State Historic District or listed on the National/ State Register of Historic Places. Presenters include Jason Yots, principal and CEO of Preservation Studios; Sloane Bullough and Jennifer Walkowski of New York State Division of Historic Preservation; and Erin Tobin of Preservation League of New York State. The second workshop, Historic Home: Homeowner Tax Credits, is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Magnano Reception Room at Jamestown Community College’s Olean Campus, 260 N. Union St. The seminar will focus on how those owning residential property located within a National/ State Historic District or listed on the National/ State Register of Historic Places can access a New York State Historic Tax Credit for qualified repairs and rehabilitation. Sloane Bullough and Jennifer Walkowski of New York State Division of Historic Preservation; and Erin Tobin of Preservation League of New York State.
