OLEAN, NY -- The Olean Common Council invites public feedback on a proposed rental inspection law, under which all rental properties in the city would be inspected before being occupied by new tenants.
The council will conduct a public hearing on the proposal Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, 101 E. State St.
Under the proposal, the first inspection cost is set at $60. If needed, a second inspection would be carried out at no cost.
Mayor William J. Aiello has said the goal of the propodal is to make the city a more desirable place, eliminating broken-down properties and encouraging people to live and start businesses in Olean.
