OLEAN, NY – Chris Ogden, lead cook in the Food and Nutrition Services Department at Olean General Hospital, received the hospital’s November Star Award.
Ogden, who started working as a food service aide in 2015 while he was in high school, has served in numerous roles in the department. He was recently named lead cook.
He earned an associate’s degree at Jamestown Community College in May and also is an Eagle Scout.
Julie Becker, general manager, Food and Nutrition Services, said that Ogden “always has a smile on his face and is a true team player.”
The Star Award is presented monthly to an employee who demonstrates outstanding performance and inspires the same in others. Nominations are made by patients or coworkers for exceptional customer satisfaction, continuous performance improvement, teamwork, communication, ownership/accountability and excellence. Those nominated for the award are OGH’s “shining stars.”
