OLEAN, NY - Patrolman Ryan Aylor has been awarded a STOP/DWI and Mothers against Drunk Driving Individual Officer Recognition Award for 2016.

The award recognizes the contribution of a police officer to reduce impaired driving incidents.

According to Olean police, the department arrested 82 people for impaired driving in 2016, and Aylor  made 36 of the arrests. Over the last three years, he has accounted for 41 percent the department's impaired driving arrests.

“It is only appropriate that Officer Aylor’s dedication and hard work is being acknowledged in this way,” said Olean Police Chief Jeffrey Rowley. “While there is no way to know how many motor vehicle accidents and subsequently how many injuries and or fatalities have been prevented, I have no doubt that those numbers have been significantly reduced by his efforts.”
