OLEAN, NY — The Olean Public Library is no longer requiring appointments for use of its computers during this coronavirus pandemic.
As a precautionary measure, the library installed shields around each computer and turned off every other computer so that users are not sitting close to each other.
Computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may be used for one hour per day. Patrons should bring their library cards with them for computer logins. Library cards are not required to access the free WiFi on personal devices.
Patrons must wear masks in the library and social distance while signing up and waiting for computers to become available, and they are strongly encouraged to obtain cleaning wipes from library service desks and to wipe keyboards and mice before using computers.
Patrons must bring their own headphones since those cannot be shared.
At this time, staff are not able to provide computer tutoring or assistance that requires close personal contact.
Questions about computer services may be directed to the Information Desk
