OLEAN, NY -- The Olean Public Library is preparing for a round of renovations that officials hope will give the facility a more contemporary look and help it run more efficiently.

The approximately $245,000 project is expected to begin Sept. 12 with several changes to the library, including new carpeting, information desk, emergency windows and partial wall for the children’s area.

The library will remain open the next couple months throughout the update but certain areas may need to be restricted for short periods of time.
