OLEAN, NY – The city will begin street improvements on portions of North 1st and Wayne streets next week and is advising motorists to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
The work, scheduled to begin on Tuesday, will take place on North 1st Street from the railroad to Wayne Street and on Wayne Street from North 1st to North 9th Street, the Department of Public Works said in a news release.
According to the news release, the project will be complete within a month, weather permitting.
The work will involve grinding, paving and milling, as well as curb work and sidewalk ramps. The street will remain open to traffic; but is expected become congested at times.
