OLEAN, NY – A Salamanca woman was arrested in Olean Tuesday and charged with four felonies – third-degree grand larceny, third-degree welfare fraud, misuse of food stamps, and three counts of offering a false instrument for filing.
Police said authorities launched an investigation of Amy Mikulski, 33, after receiving a complaint from the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services for suspected welfare fraud.
Police said the investigation led them to believe that Mikulski had received $5,648 in food stamps by concealing and failing to report income.
Mikulski turned herself in at the City of Olean Court and was released. She is to appear back at the court at a later date.
