OLEAN, NY - A 49-year-old Olean man was arrested Thursday and charged with selling crack cocaine, Olean police announced.
Police said Berry K. Armprester was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance, also in gthe third degree. Both charges are felonies. He also was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, which is a misdemeanor.
According to police, Armprester was stopped by investigators while he was driving on Irving Street after a surveillance team spotted him.
Armprester was booked in at the Olean Police Department, issued an appearance ticket for the misdemeanor charge and transported to the Cattaraugus County Jail.
Police said the arrest was the result of several months of investigation by the Olean Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit and a presentation by the Cattaraugus County District Attorney Lori P. Rieman to a Grand Jury.
After a Grand Jury indicted Armprester, an arrest warrant was signed by Cattaraugus County Judge Ron Ploetz.
