ALLEGANY, NY —State Police arrested a Portville man on Dec. 1 and charged him with multiple drug and driving offenses.

Shane A. Rice, 29, was arrested during an investigation of a one-car accident on Interstate 86 in Allegany.

Police said Rice had been driving in an impaired condition and was in possession of methamphetamine, crack cocaine, morphine and amphetamines.

He was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Using a Vehicle Without an Interlock Device and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia.

Rice was arraigned in Allegany Town Court, where he is due to appear in later this month.
