Before Reed arrived, a small group that included Olean Mayor William Aiello and Lee James, Cattaraugus-Allegany region director for the congressman, waited.

James replied he had the right day.
Reed and the mayor elbow bumped to greet each other. The mayor said his birthday had been the day before. And he added, "All the good people are born in June."
