OLEAN, NY – Tyler Robison pitched eight scoreless innings and struck out seven batters while yielding only three hits to lead the Olean Oilers to a 2-0 victory over the Rochester Ridgemen at Bradner Stadium Tuesday.
Robison, who plays for Savannah State University, was named Tuesday’s New York Collegiate Baseball League Pitcher of the Night for his efforts on the mound.
Braydon Nelson closed out the game, pitching a scoreless ninth inning to notch the save.
Kevin Mooney doubled in the Oilers’ first run in the second inning. Olean added another run on a wild pitch in the fifth inning.
The win was the Oilers’ fourth in a row, and the team now has a 13-12 record. Olean takes on the Genesee Rapids Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Houghton College.
