What I learned most from Dr. Jandoli is that as journalists/writers, we are always in pursuit of truth, no matter what we happen to be writing. He taught me that in the pursuit of this truth, words really do matter. Our words have meaning and impact, so it's important to mull them over and use them wisely.
We cannot shortchange the message we are trying to convey. We must not waste words, nor should they be overused. We need to recognize our words as vehicles used to deliver ultimate meaning. The pursuit of accurately and fully conveying the ideas deep with us is vitally important, and we must be relentless in it.
