OLEAN, NY – The city will begin street improvements on portions of Wayne and Buffalo streets next week and is advising motorists to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
The work, scheduled to begin on Monday, will take place on Wayne Street from North 9th to North 12th street, the Department of Public Works said in a news release. The city also will be working on Buffalo Street in conjunction with ongoing work by the New York State Department of Transportation.
According to the news release, the street improvements will be complete within a month, weather permitting.
The work will involve grinding, paving and milling, as well as curb work and sidewalk ramps. The street will remain open to traffic; but is expected become congested at times.
