OLEAN, NY – The Twin Tiers Community Band closed out the City of Olean’s Summer Concert Series Thursday with a performance that included showtunes, pop classics and patriotic standards.

Led by Diane Smith, the band played for nearly 90 minutes on a chilly August evening. About 60 people attended the show.

The group is a concert band comprised of about 30 musicians; some are school age and others are senior citizens. The band performs at community gatherings and charitable functions throughout the Southwestern New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania.

The city’s summer concert series began on June 22 and featured performers every Thursday evening. The lineup included the Allegany Alumni & Friends Band, Coyote Moon, Crusin, Dave Dorson, the Kokomo Time Band, the Larry Lewicki Band, the LTM Trio, the Olean Blues Brothers & Generations and Toucan Jam.

All concerts took place in Lincoln Park at the corner of State and Union streets.
