ALLEGANY, NY — Canticle Farm is looking for volunteers to help with curbside service during the Tuesday noon-6 p.m. shopping hours at its farm market, 3809 Old State Road.

The curbside service, which began March 17, is a safety measure against the spread of COVID-19. As another safety measure, Canticle Farm is limiting access inside the weekly Tuesday market to five patrons at a time, and has rearranged the interior space to allow for social distancing.

Customers can drive up and beep their horns. Market staff and volunteers will bring out lists for the selection of vegetables and other items, fill the orders and bring them to the cars for payment.

Customers must bring their own reusable shopping bags or baskets.

In a Monday email, Sister Melissa Scholl, farm president, wrote, "My role as greeter and curbside shopper last week was energizing and a challenge. Staff was fully engaged. It is obvious we need to ask for volunteer help."

Persons interested in volunteering can contact the office at 716-373-0200 X 3358, and leave a message and phone number, or email sistermelissa@canticlefarm.org.
