OLEAN, NY — The Village Green Pub, 311 N. Union St., will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser Wednesday, from 5 to 9 p.m., in support of Joey Tyra and his family.

The child has had epilepsy for years and recently was hospitalized. Because his condition has become worse, the Tyra family has had to go out of state for treatment. The resulting bills have taken a toll on the family.

“We are doing this to help support the family’s financial problems,” Sarah Thompson, a Village Green employee who planned the event, said.

Thompson is friendly with Joey’s mother, and she wants to give back to her friend.

“We met four years ago when we worked together, and now we live across the street to each other, so I wanted to do something in person this way people can meet Joey and get to know him,” Thompson said.

The restaurant plans to serve 20 dinners an hour, and because of limited capacity during the pandemic, will sell dinner by pre-sale only for 5, 6, 7 and 8 p.m. Most people will be eating inside the restaurant.

Tickets are available at Village Green and are $5 for children, $15 for a single adult and $25 for two adults.
