ST. BONAVENTURE, NY – WSBU 88.3 FM The Buzz, St. Bonaventure University’s radio station, is headed back to the Big Game Sunday for its third annual stint at Radio Row. Pre-game day coverage is scheduled through Friday.
What will be different this year is that twice as many Buzz members will be attending as did in the two previous years, according to Stephen Wilt, WSBU’s former station manager who went to Radio Row in 2018 and 2019 with classmates Joe Ceraulo and Isaiah Blakely.
Having more people will increase the quality and scope of The Buzz media coverage, which will be shared with other outlets at the university, Wilt said.
The Buzz members will be broadcasting on 88.3 FM from 2 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday. They also will be streaming live on the SBU-TV Facebook page and writing stories for TAPinto Greater Olean and the Jandoli Institute alike, Wilt said.
Among the the three additional students joining the original group is Chandler Poczciwinski, the new station manager.
“I’m excited about the entire experience," Poczciwinski said. "I have talked to the guys who have gone there before, and they said it's unbelievable. I’m excited to see it for myself.”
Wilt said that the idea is to train Poczciwinski and the station's new sports director, Nicholas Rohloff. The third radio station member to attend will be graduate student Sarah Dezio.
“This year it was more of a point to make Radio Row about what the Jandoli School of Communication can do,” Wilt said. “The Buzz will be down there as a team, but we are there on behalf of the Jandoli School, not just The Buzz.”
The Big Game is the NFL championship between the Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs scheduled to take place in Miami on Feb. 2.
