OLEAN, NY -- Due to unforeseen circumstances, yard waste collection scheduled for Wednesday will be delayed by a day until Thursday.

The city Department of Public Works announced the change in a news release issued Tuesday.

The city resumed monthly curbside pickup of yard waste in April and will continue the program through September.

There is no charge for the service. Rules for pickup include:

  • All yard waste must be in paper lawn bags and/or containers no larger than 30 gallons.
  • No plastic bags are accepted.
  • Brush must be bundled together with twine or rope and no longer than 3 feet long and 18 inches in diameter.
  • Yard waste must be to curb by 7 a.m. on collection day.
