OLEAN, NY – Olean’s 2019 Lincoln Park Concert Series continued on a breezy Thursday evening with Cruisin, a two-person band featuring local performers Bill Labuhn and Susan Labuhn.
The two played a straight two-hour set of familiar country and rock tunes, featuring songs performed by artists such as George Strait, Patsy Cline, Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Carpenters, Little Big Town and Chris Stapleton.
At 6:30 p.m. the band began to play under the recently opened pavilion in Lincoln Park. Cruisin was the second band to play there, so some attendees already had a feel for the new concert stage. During the past concert seasons and most of this summer, performers played in the park's gazebo.
Volunteers from St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, which is on South Barry Street across from the park, said they liked the new setup. Performers and audience can fit in the covered space, so the need for using the John Ash Community Center on North Barry Street as a rain site is greatly diminished.
The 2019 series will conclude Thursday with Red Gray playing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
