OLEAN, NY— “The Lego Movie 2” will be the second offering of the Olean Area Federal Credit Union’s annual outdoor summer film series. The movie will be shown Friday in the credit union’s Allegany Branch parking lot, 180 W. Main St., at 8:30 p.m. In the event of rain, the movie will be shown July 27. Admission is free.

The first film of the 2019 series, “Hotel Transylvania 3,” was shown on June 21 in the parking lot of the credit union’s main location, 1201 Wayne St.

The series will conclude with “Incredibles 2” on Aug.16  at 8:30 p.m. on the grounds of Jamestown Community College’s Olean campus, 260 N Union St., in conjunction with the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce’s second StrOlean event of 2019. If it rains, the movie will be shown inside the Cutco Theater.

“Families are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the shows,” Abbey L. Bowser, marketing communications specialist for the Olean Area FCU, said. “All movies are free, but concessions are not provided. We’ve noticed from past events that many attendees bring their own refreshment.”

Last year, the Olean Area FCU received funding for a six-movie series from the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation and also partnered with the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce. Bowser said attendance in 2018 averaged approximately 60 persons per showing.

This year, according to Bowser, the Olean Area FCU has paid for all costs, including advertising and licensing fees.
