OLEAN, NY – Greg Souchik's “Rock & Roll in Black & White” will open Friday with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Tri-County Arts Council Art Gallery, 110 W. State St. The event will be free and open to the public, and appetizers and drinks will be served.

Souchik described “Rock & Roll in Black & White" as "a collection of portraits of music and rock & roll icons from the sixties and early seventies. Some are portrayed at a young age; others in their golden years. The paintings are executed with acrylic paint on canvas, using only black, white, and the greys in between."

He added, "The work reflects the media of this era – black a white. Most publicity photos and TV's of this time were in this format. The stark contrast of these colors, the shadow, and the light mixed together create a unique view of these artists."

The exhibit will be on view through Feb. 28, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Thursdays from, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
