The Western New York Region, which includes the Greater Olean area, will enter Phase 4 of the state’s reopening process Tuesday.
Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo made the announcement during a coronavirus briefing Monday.
“Phase 4 is ready for Western New York tomorrow, so we are excited about that,” Cuomo said.
The governor said the decision was made after global public health experts advising the state on reopening cleared Western New York.
Phase 4 allows low-risk indoor and outdoor arts and entertainment, film and television production, higher education and professional sports without fans. Full details are available on the state’s New York Forward website.
The state’s Central New York, Finger Lakes, Mohawk Valley, North Country and Southern Tier regions entered Phase 4 Friday.
