OLEAN, NY –Jeff Zewe has been appointed president and CEO of Upper Allegheny Health System (UAHS), Olean General Hospital (OGH) and Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC), effective March 15.

Zewe has been senior vice president and chief operating officer at UAHS since 2015.

Zewe will succeed Timothy Finan, who in January announced his intention to retire. Finan has served as president and CEO of Olean General Hospital since 2006 and has been president and CEO of UAHS since the system formed in 2009.

“As we said when Tim announced his retirement plans, we thank him for everything he has done to lead an organization of stellar quality and performance and wish him well as he steps into retirement,” UAHS chairman Jeff Belt said.

Zewe will report to the UAHS Board of Directors. Consistent with operational reporting relationships of presidents at Kaleida Health hospitals, Zewe also will report to Donald Boyd, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Kaleida Health.

Zewe is a native of the Pittsburgh area and has more than 30 years of experience in multiple health systems including 20 years in leadership roles.

A registered nurse, Zewe served as vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at UAHS from 2011 to 2015. He served as president of Excela Health – Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, from 2008 to 2010; vice president of patient care services at Excela Health – Latrobe and Frick Hospitals from 2006 to 2008; and nursing director, Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, from 2000 to 2006.

Zewe holds a master of business administration degree from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, and a bachelor’s degree from Duquesne University, also in Pittsburgh. He lives in Olean with his wife,,Nicole Marker-Zewe, and their children, Brandon and Ashley.
