OLEAN, NY – Dan Jordan, professional photographer and “eagle whisperer,” will host the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce’s first “Lunch and Learn” event of the year on Feb. 11 at noon.
The topic of his workshop is bald eagles from Western New York, and Jordan will discuss their near extinction in the 1960s as well as their eventual recovery.
Jordan has taken more than 60,000 photos of bald eagles in the area and monitors three dozen nests.
These GOACC's one-hour Lunch and Learn workshops are brown bag events created for communication, collaboration and learning.
Erica Dreher, GOACC membership outreach coordinator, said, “Several of our 2020 Lunch and Learns will be considered a ‘personal enrichment’ topic. They will enable our members and their employees to explore new interests, develop skills and further your passions.”
Lunch and Learn workshops are conducted by local business experts, Chamber members and associates of Chamber partners.
This is the first of the Lunch and Learn series of 2020, and others will occur throughout the calendar year. The next one is scheduled for Feb. 25 and will be conducted by Southern Tier Security with the topic of workplace safety and prevention.
The workshops are held at the Chamber’s office on 301 N. Union St. They are free for GOACC members; there is a $10 admission fee for non-members.
For more information or to make a reservation, persons should contact the chamber by phone (716-372-4433) or by email (firstname.lastname@example.org.)
