OLEAN, NY – The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Cattaraugus County will hold a fundraiser called Rock-n-Roll for Rescues on Saturday at the Pulaski Club at 1140 N. Union St.
The doors will open at 6 p.m., and the event runs from 7 to 10. Tickets are $20 per person and come with snacks, soft drinks and an entry for the door prize, a Webber Grill, according to Lila Ervay, one of the event organizers.
The event also will feature jitterbug and twist contests with $25 prizes, a cash bar and a performance by the singing group Generations, who will be playing a collection of 1950s and 1960s music.
Tickets will be sold at the door and are available at the SPCA at 2944 Route 16 in Olean, the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce at 301 N Union St. in Olean and the Pulaski Club.
“Saturday night’s proceeds will be directed toward renovating the 40-year-old dog kennels at the SPCA, which are outdated and no longer meet today’s requirements,” Ervay said.
The SPCA's fundraising efforts will continue in November when the organization opens a Christmas Store in Olean Center Mall. The store will be open until Christmas. All proceeds also will be directed toward the cost of the kennel renovations
