The Cattaraugus County Department of Health has confirmed its 30th case of the coronavirus, according to a press release issued Monday.
The individual is a female healthcare worker who lives in the northwestern part of the county, according to the press release. Initially, she thought she had developed a sinus infection and experienced a loss of taste and smell. She was tested for COVID-19 on Friday, and a COVID-19 positive result came back on Saturday.
The patient is under quarantine with her family at home, according to the press release. The department of health will monitor their symptoms closely and has begun a thorough contact tracing on the woman.
The department of health provided the following COVID-19 updates on its Facebook page:
- Twelve individuals living in the county have recovered from COVID-19. Zero deaths have been reported.
- A total of 564 tests have been administered, and 497 tests have been negative.
- Within the county, 166 people are in mandatory quarantine.
