The National Weather Service in Buffalo has extended its flash flood warning for southeastern Cattaraugus and southwestern Allegany counties from 11:15 p.m. Thursday until 2 a.m. Friday.
Towns include Allegany, Allegany State Park, Carrollton, Cuba, Great Valley, Hinsdale, Olean, Salamanca, St. Bonaventure and Weston Mills. The area includes Interstate 86 between exits 19 and 28.
Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms could impact small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage and low-lying areas. Additional rainfall amounts of half an inch to an inch of rain are possible.
