A severe thunderstorm watch for the Greater Olean area will remain in effect until 7 p.m. Sunday.
The National Weather Service issued the warning at 12:50 p.m.
Earlier on Sunday, the agency had issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Allegany, Cattaraugus, Erie, Livingston andWyoming counties. The warning expired at 3:45 p.m.
According to the agency, winds in excess of 40 miles per hours and damage to roofs, siding and trees are possible. Residents are advised to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building for protection.
