The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather warning for Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, southern Erie and Wyoming counties.
This advisory took effect at 3:59 p.m. Saturday and will remain in place until 7 a.m. Sunday.
According to the agency, snow accumulations of 5 to 9 inches, as well as wind gusts as high as 40 miles per hour, are expected.
"Travel could be very difficult with deep, slushy snow cover on roads and poor visibility," the warning stated. "The combination of wet snow and gusty winds may result in some downed tree limbs and scattered power outages."
